LABUAN: Former Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament Datuk Hiew King Cheu said not only PAS but also MIC should have no representation in government appointments.
This is because both were opposed to the formation of the unity government.
“It is a common practice in democratic rule for appointments made before when a party was part of a coalition to resign when that party no longer subscribed to a new political alignment. The affected nominee should not feel jolted by such decision.”
He said a PAS member was appointed as a Nominated Assemblyman after the 2020 state election when the Bersatu-led government was part of Perikatan Nasional (PN).
