The British rock band Coldplay has been set to perform here in November, but a PAS leader has petitioned the government to cancel the event.

Nasrudin Hassan, a member of PAS's central working committee, questioned Putrajaya about whether permitting Coldplay to perform here would promote "hedonism and deviant cultures" in the nation.

Nasrudin included images of Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin waving the lesbian, homosexual, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) flag at a London concert in a Facebook post that he published today. "I advise the authorities to put off the concert. It benefits neither race, religion, nor nation," according to Nasrudin, who is a former MP for Temerloh. In his post, he also attached a screenshot of PM Anwar's tweet welcoming the band to the country, urging the government to rethink their decision in bringing the band here.
