SANDAKAN: Sabah PAS is pleased over the request by a Chinese NGO here to contest the Batu Sapi seat.

Head of Sabah PAS Muslimat Council and former candidate, Norsah Bongsu, was responding to Liew Kon Seng of the Lin Shen Jen Foo Chung Lean San Tang Association, which made the call.

“The chairman of the association said PAS is more suitable because the party often helped the people, including non-Muslims, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic,” Norsah, who is also Batu Sapi PAS Vice President, said.

She said PAS had contested the seat in the 13th and 14th GEs.

“PAS is ready to create a victory in Batu Sapi which is indeed a long-term target.

“Throughout that period, PAS never stopped providing services to the community either in fostering harmony, welfare, education or preaching,” she said.

She said Sabah PAS Muslimat was ready to help the machinery of the 15th General Election (GE15).

Sabah PAS Secretary Dr Aliakbar Gulasan, also a Sabah Assemblyman (appointed), said the State PAS had sent the list of candidates to the central PAS and it had been approved by the Ulama Council.
