KUALA LUMPUR – It is slander and baseless accusations that PAS had paid voters to take an oath in the name of Allah to cast ballots for the party in the recently-concluded general election.
Kelantan PAS secretary Wan Roslan Wan Hamat said this was never the approach to lure voters home to the state to vote for the party.
“PAS was only helping voters from out of state return to vote in Kelantan and bore their travel costs, especially those who could not afford to pay their fare.
“This was aimed at easing their (voters) burden and the return fare was given to all those who were eligible for it, regardless of which party they voted for,” he was quoted as saying by the New Straits Times.
He added that the voters were not told to swear in the name of Allah as the party did not ask them who they were going to vote for.
The one-minute viral video clip showed a man in a room with young voters, allegedly telling them to swear that they would vote for PAS before handing out what looks like money. – The Vibes, November 26, 2022
