KUALA LUMPUR, March 7 — PAS Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari today urged authorities to take action against Twitter user @armanamin330 for threatening public security by linking the Islamist party to the terrorist organisation Daesh.

"So when these accusations are made clearly and openly, we ask that the police act as soon as possible.

"Make the necessary investigations and arrests because such tweets can cause harm to the community of different races and is a threat to the freedom of democracy in this country," he said during a press conference at Parliament today.

The Pasir Mas MP said that the Twitter user has been an avid critic of PAS and questioned the government's double standard when responding to those who spread fake news.

"When activists or some in TikTok are responsible for spreading campaign materials in the name of Perikatan Nasional, the government acts fast enough.

"So why no investigation yet against this person who linked PAS to Daesh," he added.
