PASAY City has strengthened its Libreng Sakay (free ride) program by rolling out route-based services across key areas of the city as residents continue to feel the impact of rising fuel prices and the increasing cost of basic goods.

In a public advisory released on Wednesday, April 8, the city government said the program was being intensified under Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano to provide commuters with wider transport assistance on weekdays.

The advisory said that Zones 1, 2 and 3 will operate from Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Zone 1 will cover SM Mall of Asia, 711 Revilla St., Malibay Plaza, Mercury Drug, and Pasay City Hall.

Zone 2 will cover Pasay City Hall, EDSA Heritage via Tramo and Aurora Boulevard, Andrews Avenue in Barangay 185, Barangay 183 Hall, and Pasay City Astrodome.

Zone 3, which will operate as a point-to-point route, will run between Barangay 201 Hall and Pasay City Hall.

The city government also retained additional routes in Buendia-Leveriza-FB Harrison, Malibay, and Pildera-Villamor.

Those additional routes will operate from Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., covering peak commuting hours in the morning and late afternoon.

The city said the expanded Libreng Sakay (free ride) service was meant to help Pasayeños manage daily travel costs as transport expenses continue to rise.
