It’s no secret that the aerotrain at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has a tendency of malfunctioning every once in a while.

And sadly, it has happened once again.

Former Bukit Bintang and Wangsa Maju MP Wee Choo Keong took to his Twitter page to showcase aerotrain passengers having to walk on the aerotrain track towards the terminal, in the rain, after the aerotrain had broken down.

He wrote, “KLIA aerotrain broke down again! This time half way between Terminal C to the main terminal. Both trains broke down! Passengers have to walk all the way to the main terminal. Is this how we attract tourists to visit our beautiful country? Anthony Loke (Transport Minister), what have you got to say?”

And true enough, airports tend to make lasting impressions on foreign tourists as it’s the first aspect of a country they’d see.

In the videos showcased online, stranded aerotrain passengers could be seen walking on the tracks with some holding umbrellas due to the rainfall.

He went on to call for those in charge of managing the aerotrain to be replaced by others who can fix the problem.

“This event is a big, national embarrassment! Heads must roll, otherwise it will keep on happening again and again. Sack those (who are) responsible.”
