KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) is reassessing its political direction following Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku’s (Star) surprise decision to leave the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition, TV Sabah reported.
A closed-door meeting among PBS Supreme Council members and premier advisor Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan focused on preserving unity and continuing the struggle for Sabah’s rights and interests.
According to party insiders, key issues discussed included the status of the existing memorandum of understanding and the upcoming party convention.
Pairin urged members to stay united during this critical period and consider re-engaging Star to strengthen Sabah’s political voice under the spirit of "Justice for Sabah".
Political observers said any shift in PBS’s stance could significantly reshape the State’s political landscape ahead of the 17th State Election, as the party faces internal pressure to maintain cohesion before making its next move.
