Kota Kinabalu: Warisan should apply to become a Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) component party after its repeated offers to cooperate with the ruling coalition fell on deaf ears, suggests a Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) leader.
PBS Youth Chief Christoper Mandut said once Warisan submits its application it would be raised at the GRS Supreme Council for an “open discussion”.
Advertisement“We believe that if all parties set aside their differences and prioritise unity, it will be a positive step towards a brighter future for Sabah,” he said in a statement, Monday.
On Sunday, Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal said GRS had turned down numerous invitations to discuss working together for the upcoming state election.

The former Chief Minister said collaboration to unite Sabahans would make it easier for the State to realise its rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963.

“In fact, not long ago, Warisan seemed more inclined to cooperate with Umno.

He said Sabah would be better off if all political parties, including Warisan, set aside differences and prioritised unity.
