
- The mother of PC Andrew Harper has received a late-night call from Downing Street regarding the planned early release of her son's killers.
- Jessie Cole and Albert Bowers, sentenced to 13 years for Mr Harper’s manslaughter, are scheduled for release in January under a government scheme.
- Debbie Adlam said that she was assured that Prime Minister Andy Burnham now has hope of finding a resolution to keep both men in prison.
- The contact comes a day after Downing Street said that it was not possible to block their early release.
- Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Ms Adlam said that she remains cautiously hopeful while attempting to manage her expectations.
