On 16 June, an altercation between a Grab rider and a Singaporean man occurred at a petrol station in Johor.

It is said that the Singaporean men had been filling up a jerrycan with RON95 petroleum for go-kart uses and were confronted by a Grab rider.

About 2 weeks later on 6 July, one of the men has finally been detained by PDRM. In the statement issued by the Iskandar Puteri district police chief, Assistant Commissioner of Police Rahmat bin Ariffin said that they managed to detain one of the men from the viral video at around 2.30pm on 6 July.

“Officers arrested a 46-year-old Singaporean Chinese man believed to be involved in the altercation at a Caltex in Iskandar Puteri.”

He continued: “The suspect admitted that he was involved in the case. A check on him shows that he had no past records.”

We hope that justice will prevail.
