
A ROYAL Malaysia Police (PDRM) helicopter was involved in an accident near Sungai Pulai, Gelang Patah in Johor earlier today, with all five occupants, including the pilot, confirmed safe.
According to a statement by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), the AS355N helicopter departed from the Tanjung Kupang Police Station at 9:51 am, carrying four passengers alongside the pilot.
"All five individuals were rescued by the Marine Police Unit and transported to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) jetty in Johor," the statement read.
CAAM added that the survivors were subsequently transferred to Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Bahru for further assessment and treatment.
An investigation into the incident will be conducted by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau under Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport.
The probe is being carried out under Part XXVI of the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016. - July 10, 2025
