PDRM Helicopter with 5 People On Board Crash Lands Near Sungai Pulai in Johor

A Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing in Johor earlier today (July 10).

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) confirmed in a statement that the incident involved an AS355N helicopter, which took off from the Tanjung Kupang Police Station at 9:51 AM.

Everyone on board was successfully rescued

CAAM added that the helicopter, with registration number 9M-PHG, was involved in the emergency landing near Sungai Pulai, Gelang Patah, earlier this morning.

According to Berita Harian, those on board, including the pilot, were taking part in the Malaysia-Indonesia-Thailand-Singapore Maritime Operation Exercise (MITSATOM) 2025.

The pilot and passengers were successfully rescued by the Marine Police Force (PPM) and brought to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) jetty.

Victims were sent to the hospital for further treatment

The helicopter, operated by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), had five people on board when it departed from the Tanjung Kupang Police Station at 9:51AM.

CAAM also stated that a full investigation will be conducted by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau under the Ministry of Transport, in accordance with Part XXVI of the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016.

“All five individuals, including the pilot, were rescued by the Marine Police Force (PPM) and brought to the MMEA jetty in Johor Bahru. They were later transferred to Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) for medical examination and treatment,” the statement said.
