PDRM Hunting Suspect Who Hit 53yo Driver with Wooden Weapon in Johor Road Rage

A video has been circulating online recently, showing a road rage clash in Johor between two male drivers that quickly turned violent.

In the viral clip, one man can be seen aggressively striking another, who was still in his car, using a wooden weapon in the middle of the road.

A driver in Johor was struck by another road user with a wooden weapon

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) confirmed it received a report from the victim, a 53-year-old local man who works as a warehouse attendant in Singapore.

According to Chief of the Johor Bahru Selatan District Police ACP Raub Bin Selamat, the incident occurred on 13 January (Tuesday), at approximately 9:15 PM, leaving the victim injured.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect became upset after the complainant nearly collided with his vehicle while exiting a petrol station.

“The suspect then got out of his car and struck the complainant’s hand with a wooden object, causing cuts and swelling on his right hand,” the statement read.

PDRM is actively pursuing leads to track down the suspect

Raub added that the suspect is still at large, and the police are actively working to track him down.

“The public is advised not to speculate on this matter, as it could affect the investigation, and to always follow the law. The police take a firm stance against any form of violence or public disturbance,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code. If found guilty, the suspect could face up to three years in prison, a fine, whipping, or a combination of these penalties.

PDRM is urging anyone with information about the incident to report it to the nearest police station or the Johor Bahru Selatan District Police Headquarters.
