Inspector-General Police, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said PDRM will be closely monitoring officers who live lavishly beyond their means.

During the monthly assembly in Bukit Aman this morning (October 18), Tan Sri Razarudin mentioned the rising trend of police officers who are involved in drug abuse, criminal activities, and disciplinary issues.

Razarudin also mentioned that frequent urine tests will be conducted among police officers to make sure they are not involved in drug abuse cases.

“I will not compromise with any police officers who are involved in criminal activities and tarnish the image of the police.”

The IPG then highlighted a recent misconduct that involved a senior police officer and other officers who were found sexually assaulting a woman during an investigation and told all police officers to learn from the incident.

During the speech, Razarudin also emphasized the importance of strict supervision by those in leadership positions of all levels. He reminded that action must be taken against officers who violate rules or discipline.

The Integrity and Compliance Standards Department (JIPS) will also be more proactive in taking action to detect misconduct among police officers, and strict action will be taken according to existing legal provisions if they are involved in corruption, drug abuse, or any other related offences.

“This shouldn’t be taken lightly but should serve as a lesson.”

What do you think of Razarudin’s take on the misconduct among police officers?
