PDRM Rescues Missing 15yo Girl Shortly After Father Receives Ransom Demand, 7 Teens Arrested

A 15-year-old girl was found safe at an apartment in Shah Alam after her dad went searching for her when she hadn’t come home since November 16.

Klang District police chief ACP Cha Hoong Fong shared in a statement that the dad reported how his daughter had left home, and when he tried calling her, he got an audio message from her phone that didn’t say where she was.

Suspect threatened to sell his daughter

The 47-year-old dad got worried about his daughter’s safety, so he decided to file a police report. He mentioned that he had gotten a voice message from a man (the suspect) telling him to pick up his daughter in the Subang area.

He went on to say that after getting the location, he went there but couldn’t find his daughter.

Later, he received a WhatsApp message from the suspect saying the victim would be dropped off in Kuala Lumpur. But when he threatened to report it to the police, the suspect threatened to sell his daughter and demanded money to return her.

They arrested suspects aged between 15 and 19 years old

Acting on the information, on November 18 around 11:00 PM, a police team from the Criminal Investigation Division at Klang Selatan raided an apartment in Section 7, Shah Alam, and managed to rescue the victim safely.

They also arrested 3 male and 2 female suspects, aged between 15 and 19.

The next day (November 19), the police caught 2 more male suspects, aged 16 and 18, at a mall in Kuala Lumpur. None of the suspects had any criminal records.

The case was investigated under Section 363 of the Penal Code for taking or detaining a girl under 16 without the legal guardian’s consent. If found guilty, the penalty is up to 7 years in prison and a fine.

A remand request was granted for 1 day for the 4 suspects aged 18 and under, while the remand for the other suspects was extended for 4 days, until November 22.
