In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration nationwide, the Royal Malaysia Police's traffic investigation and enforcement department (JSPT) has announced on its social media that Op Selamat 23 will kick off on January 28, 2025 and run until February 2, 2025. Op Selamat, which aims to lower traffic accidents and infractions among Malaysian drivers, will concentrate on six major offences that have been found to be contributing factors to traffic accidents during festive seasons: speeding, using the emergency lane without permission, cutting lines, ignoring traffic signals, and using a phone while driving.
In its statement, PDRM advised all road users to abide by traffic laws and regulations for the safety of everyone.
