A Malaysian father had the biggest shock of his life after finding her daughter hanging from the ceiling fan in the living room of her house. At the time of writing (August 18), here’s what the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) said about the murder, so far.
The murder suspect is likely someone known to the victim.
The police are still investigating the motive behind the murder
According to Subang Jaya Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Mamat, early investigations at the scene showed no loss of property, thus eliminating the elements of robbery. As of now, PDRM has recorded the statements of 12 individuals to assist with the investigation.
“The suspect may be someone known to the victim, as no loss of property was reported at the crime scene. We are still investigating the motive behind the murder,” Wan Azlan said, reported Sin Chew and Harian Metro.
The victim was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the living room on the second floor of her house in USJ 2/1 in Subang Jaya yesterday (August 17) around 11:55 AM. The medical personnel confirmed her death, and PDRM confirmed the matter as murder after receiving the autopsy report from Hospital Serdang.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder
The cause of death was bleeding in the hyoid bone (the U-shaped bone located in front of the neck) due to manual strangulation.
Wan Azlan also said PDRM is now on the hunt for the suspect, and the matter is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
