
One of the most-awaited superhero shows, Peacemaker Season 2, is back to continue the story of Christopher “Chris” Smith, a DC Comics hero who will stop at nothing to achieve peace, even if it means using lethal force. Following the success of Season 1 in 2022, anticipation has been sky-high. The new season promises explosive action, outrageous comedy, high-tech stunts, improvised one-liners from John Cena delivered in his signature deadpan style, and a dose of multiverse mayhem that fans won’t want to miss. If you have been keeping track, Season 1 was part of the old DC Extended Universe (DCEU), whereas the second season is part of the new DC Universe (DCU). However, the new season does pick up after the events of the first one, acknowledging and building upon its events, characters, and storyline.
Season 2 of Peacemaker: Trailer, plot, cast & more
The second season of Peacemaker started shooting on April 13, 2024, and wrapped up in November 2024. The first episode of Peacemaker 2 was released on HBO Max on August 21, 2025. The eight-episode series will release an episode every Thursday, with the finale hitting your screens on October 9, 2025.
The plot revolves around Christopher Smith, aka Peacemaker, played by John Cena, discovering a parallel dimension where life is just the way he wishes it to be. However, he must deal with the fallout of leaving his dimension, meeting himself in the parallel universe, as well as facing his past and preparing for the future. Expect hilariously chaotic scenes and action-packed sequences, along with striking visuals and a riveting storyline. The second season has a dance sequence similar to the first season. The cast also includes Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr, Steve Agee as John Economos, Tim Meadows as Langston Fleury, Sol Rodríguez as Sasha Bordeaux, David Denman as Keith Smith, Michael Rooker as Red St. Wild, and Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith aka White Dragon.
Season 2 was written by James Gunn and originally set to be directed by him, but with his commitment to Superman (2025) and his role as head of DC Studios, several episodes were helmed by other directors, including Greg Mottola, Peter Sollett, and Alethea Jones.
Peacemaker 2 filming locations
The state of Georgia in the US was the primary shooting location for Peacemaker 2, with the crew filming at various cities across the state, at outdoor locations as well as indoor sets.
Atlanta, Georgia

A significant portion of the production was staged at Atlanta’s Trilith Studios, formerly known as Pinewood Atlanta Studios. The studio complex, covering an area of 700 acres, was home to several elaborate sets, such as Peacemaker’s trailer park home and futuristic lair. Several drive-by scenes were also shot within the studio, as were all of the green screen scenes, allowing the show to create the wild scenarios that it is known for.

Paulding County, Georgia

The show used Paulding County to film various street scenes, action sequences, and stunt-heavy rural chases from Peacemaker Season 2. John Cena was spotted by many, standing on a side street minus his Peacemaker uniform, while filming the sequence. While the shooting was going on, road closures were announced throughout town, although local businesses were allowed to open.

Dallas, Georgia

Peacemaker 2 was filmed across various parts of Dallas, from the downtown area to the outskirts of the city. John Cena was spotted in the city, out of his uniform and in civilian clothes, almost as if undercover. Most scenes suggesting a small-town background were shot in Dallas.
Places to visit: Veterans Memorial Park, The Dallas Farmer’s Market, Silver Comet Trail, White Oak Park, and Smith-Gilbert Gardens.

Savannah, Georgia

A large chunk of Peacemaker Season 2 was shot in Savannah, especially scenes depicting an urban background. While some scenes were shot at real locations, sets were also created. For instance, a fake Big Belly Burger joint (a fictional fast-food chain in the DC Universe) was set up and placed on River Street for shooting some scenes. Other spots where John Cena and other members of the cast and crew were spotted include Forsyth Park, where a few action sequences were reportedly shot.
