Barcelona midfielder Pedri is keen to change his shirt number.
Sport says Pedri has asked Barcelona to change to the No 8 shirt. It's been known that he would like it - his website is even PedriGonzalez8.es, and he will wear that shirt next season after Dani Alves left, freeing it up.
So far at Barcelona he has worn the No 16 shirt. However, Andres Iniesta is his idol and the No 8 would be perfect for him.
Since Iniesta left, it went to Arthur, Pjanic and then Dani Alves.
Barcelona are conscious that Pedri is the top shirt seller in their first team squad and that it might only grow when he gets the iconic number. Legends like Iniesta and Hristo Stoichkov have worn it.
