
PENAMPANG: Five houses in Kg Timpoluon, Babagon, were razed, believed due to short circuit, according to one of the victims last Friday.
“It happened around 5.30pm when many of us were busy doing chores and some working,” said Juinah Guasai.
She said all her documents such as birth certificates and household items were destroyed.
However, no casualty was reported.

A total of 36 villagers were affected and currently seeking shelters with relatives and neighbours.
Jude Justine, a teacher at SK Babagon, said both his and his grandfather’s houses were completely destroyed.
“Most of us are related and live nearby. My house incurred an estimated loss of about RM50,000,” he said.
They hoped to get assistance like kitchen utensils and food, among others.
However, they had received immediate assistance in the form of used clothing from neighbours and friends.
Juddy Lasius, a neighbour, initiated opening the mini community hall in Kg Madsiang in nearby village to help collect donations from members of the public.
“Right now they are in need of food stuff.
“As for used clothing, we received quite a lot from kind neighbours and friends upon hearing about the incident,” said Juddy.
They are also seeking assistance from government agencies to build houses for the victims.
