A PENANG man has touched hearts online after being spotted busking at Batu Lanchang Market to raise funds for his wife’s cancer treatment.
A Threads user shared photos of the man performing with his guitar outside the market, along with a sign asking for donations to help cover his wife’s chemotherapy.
“Chemo 9/20 for his wife. This uncle is also an OKU (Orang Kurang Upaya),” the user wrote in the post.
Photos accompanying the post showed the man seated with his guitar while performing near the market, with a donation box placed in front of him.
The sign displayed beside the man read: “Please donate for my wife’s chemo (session 9 of 20). Thank you, may God bless your generosity & prayers in return.”
The post has since drawn attention from social media users, with several expressing their support for the man and his wife.
One commenter said she regularly supported him whenever she passed by the market or stopped there for lunch, describing his performances as “sweet and romantic”.
Others asked for his donation QR code so they could contribute to the couple’s cause.
“May you and the uncle always be blessed with abundant blessings. May Allah protect his wife and grant her healing,” another user commented.
