- Both Major O'Brien and Chief Warrant Officer 3 Marzan were members of the Army Reserve.
- The four other Army Reserve troops that were previously announced as having died in the March 1 hostilities were: Captain Cody A. Khork, Sergeant 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, Sergeant 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, and Sergeant Declan J. Coady.
