PeraSure launches in PH, targets microentrepreneurs

PERASURE, a digital lending company operated by Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)-registered Sulit Lending Corp., has entered the Philippine lending market, targeting an estimated 9.9 million gig workers and micro-entrepreneurs who may struggle to qualify for credit under traditional income documentation requirements.

The digital lender is offering loans of up to P50,000, allowing eligible borrowers to apply using a government-issued identification card and basic income or employment information, without requiring payslips or employer-issued documents.

“Many hardworking Filipinos earn a living outside a regular payroll, yet lending has long been built around payslips,” PeraSure said. “We want borrowers to see exactly what they will pay, within the SEC's limits, before they confirm a loan.”

The launch comes as the SEC enforces tighter interest and fee limits on qualifying small loans. Under Memorandum Circular 14, Series of 2025, the combined charges on covered loans are capped at 12 percent per month starting April 1, 2026, down from the previous ceiling of 15 percent.

PeraSure said its daily interest rate starts at 0.10 percent, while loan amounts and repayment terms of 30 to 180 days depend on individual credit evaluations.

The company also allows eligible borrowers to reuse an approved credit line, with limits potentially increasing as they build a repayment history.

The lender is targeting a segment of the workforce that includes freelancers, platform workers and small-business operators. About 9.9 million Filipinos, or roughly 22 percent of the country's 44 million employed workers, were engaged in gig or informal work, according to figures from the Philippine Statistics Authority cited in a BusinessWorld report.

PeraSure said applicants can review the applicable interest, fees and total repayment amount before accepting a loan. Its app is available on Google Play.
