Perikatan Nasional has released a press statement stating that the coalition has submitted statutory declarations(SDs) from 112 MPs to Istana Negara.
“They give their trust to YB Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Muhyiddin bin Haji Mohd Yassin, Member of Parliament for Pagoh, to be appointed as the 10th Prime Minister by His Majesty the King in-Pertuan Agong,”, says coalition secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin in the press statement.
“The number of SDs submitted are more than 112, which exceeds the number of votes of the majority of Dewan Rakyat Members required for the appointment of the Prime Minister under Article 43 of the Federal Constitution.”
