Hamzah, who is also Deputy President of Bersatu Malaysia, said that his party would not be announcing the number of seats they plan to contest at this time. However, he is confident that the candidates they field would be capable of leading Sabah towards a better future.

He was speaking after attending the Jelajah Sabah Zon 5 (Sabah Tour Zone 5) programme organised by Perikatan Nasional at Dewan Sri Gum-Gum Batu 16 on Friday night.
During the programme, Hamzah also received 300 new Bersatu membership applications from 10 branches in Zone 5.
