RANAU: Police have detained a 34-year-old permanent resident following a report alleging that he raped his 13-year-old daughter at their home in the district.
Ranau District Police Chief Supt Mursalin Mahmud confirmed that the victim was the suspect’s biological daughter.
He said the alleged incident occurred while the girl was staying with her biological father and stepmother, who was in Labuan at the time.
According to Mursalin, the suspect allegedly entered the victim’s bedroom and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
Following a report lodged by the victim’s aunt, police from the Ranau District Police Headquarters (IPD) detained the suspect last night for further investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code.
