
SANDAKAN: A Perodua Viva was destroyed by fire, while two other vehicles — a Toyota Hilux and a Proton Preve — were affected by the heat in Kg Mangkalinau, Monday.
Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station Chief Severinus Sainkui said they received a distress call at about 11.19 pm.
Six firemen were deployed to the location two kilometres away from the station with a machine and an EMRS team.
He said no casualties were reported.

Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Nurul Azlan Shah, said firemen rushed to the scene of after receiving an emergency call at 7.22pm.
“The wooden shop was 100pc burned.
“The fire was put out by the public, and after ensuring there were no other dangers involved, the operation ended at 10.29pm,” he said.
No casualties were reported. The cause of fire and losses are under investigation.
