
MANILA, Philippines —The peso slid to a fresh record low against the US dollar in morning trading on Friday, weakening to as much as P61.84:$1 and surpassing Thursday's record low of P61.75:$1.
The local currency opened at P61.80:$1 and traded within a range of P61.78 to P61.84 against the US dollar as of 9 a.m.
The peso had opened at P61.74:$1 on Thursday and traded between P61.72 and P61.75 before closing at a then-record low.
