Petrol bombs thrown at KL entertainment outlet

PETALING JAYA: Police are investigating an attack on an entertainment outlet at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng in Kuala Lumpur which occurred early yesterday morning when several suspects threw petrol bombs at the premises.

Dang Wangi deputy police chief Nazron Abd Yusof confirmed receiving a report on the incident, according to Harian Metro.

He said an investigation is being carried out under Section 435 of the Penal Code for arson, which carries imprisonment of up to 14 years and a fine, upon conviction.

“Based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, the incident occurred at about 2.18am (yesterday),” he said.

The men then threw two objects, believed to be petrol bombs, at the entertainment outlet before fleeing the scene.

The front portion of the outlet subsequently caught fire, with several members of the public seen attempting to put out the blaze.

The extent of the damage and losses incurred by the entertainment centre has yet to be confirmed.
