SEMPORNA: Two individuals were detained and 257 litres of petrol and five LPG gas cylinders were seized following an Ops Tiris 4.0 off North Mataking waters on Saturday.
The Semporna branch of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) in a statement said the arrests and seizures were made by the Kunak 22nd Battalion of General Operation Force (GOF).
The case was later handed over to the Semporna KPDN for further investigation under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
The Ministry said, following the operation, the team also seized two speed boats and three outboard engines. All the seizures were estimated worth RM10,948.44.
KPDN in their statement stressed that the ministry will remain committed to combat misappropriation activities involving control items with cooperation from other enforcement agencies.
