Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysian Headteachers’ Association (PGBM) Sabah Branch has proposed publishing a biographical book on Head of State Tun Musa Aman covering his background and life journey.
Its Chairman Datuk Nordin Mohd Taip said the proposal was discussed during a courtesy call on Musa at Istana Seri Kinabalu here on Thursday, which also covered matters related to education in Sabah.
“PGBM Sabah Branch proposes the publication of a book covering the background and life journey of Tun Musa.
“It is suitable reading for primary and secondary school pupils to help them learn about Tun Musa’s background.
“The raw draft has already been written; it is now up to Tun Musa to grant approval for the book’s publication,” he told the media following the courtesy call.
Nordin said the book was proposed to be published in a student edition.
“If approved, the book could be placed in school libraries or provided to pupils through donations.
“This is our way of educating the community by offering an authentic narrative regarding the prominent leaders in our State,” he said.
The delegation was led by Nordin and included SK Api-Api Headmaster Hafiz Zuraimy Damsah and SK Gayang Headmaster Mateli Ekeh.
Also present was Special Officer to the Chief Minister Datuk Murshidi Abd Ghaffar. Musa also received a courtesy call from Assistant Chief of Staff for Reserve Forces at Army Headquarters Major General Datuk Mohammad Razeif Che Ahmad on the same day.
Mohammad Razeif said the purpose of the visit was to discuss the filling of the Regiment 507 Territorial Army Commander position following the end of the tenure of the previous commander, Brigadier General Datuk Al-Hamra Juhar, last August.
Two names have been submitted to Musa to determine the candidate who will fill the role.
The decision on the appointment will be submitted to the Armed Forces Council to obtain the royal assent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Meanwhile, Musa also received a courtesy call from the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) Sabah, led by its Chairman Chandra Segar Soosaimany.
The visit aimed to seek advice and guidance from Musa concerning Sabah MIC.
