Kota Kinabalu: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) Women’s Chief, Datuk Redonah Bahanda, said their goal is to secure victory for PGRS in the next State elections.

She said the women’s wing needs to work by sticking to the main focus and goal, in order to achieve success.

“The upcoming State election is a measurement for us and we need to show our strength and spirit of cooperation and teamwork.

“I am confident in everyone who is with me that we can achieve success with our hard work for the state elections slated to take place soon,” she said at PGRS’ annual grand meeting, last Monday.

According to her, the hard work starts from within involving all Wanita members from various levels.

“We must together carry out campaign work and ensure that what we convey to the grassroots is effective, understood by them and, God willing, accepted by them.

“I would like all women to practice a positive attitude and not have negative feelings among each other. A thorn in the flesh will surely disrupt all our efforts and hardwork,” she added.

Redonah added that the role of women in all fields and institutions is now very broad and comprehensive.

She said it is something to be proud of and be used as an inspiration for the struggle of the PGRS Women’s wing.

“Women play a big role and exist as the pulse in all existing institutions because women have become the strength and driving force for all.

“Don’t see us women as weak, we are not weak in spirit but we are gentle, because we have been brought up from childhood to be women with polite behaviour.

“Practice good attitude and values. We will be respected by the example we set for the people,” she said.

Redonah emphasised that the principles of the Wanita PGRS movement’s struggle is also based on the strength of the leadership of its President.

“We stand with the strength of the pillar of our party, the President, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.”

Redonah called on the members to always be aware and keep up with current developments, in line with the needs and wants of the times.

She said in order to strengthen the party, everyone needs to focus on the needs of the party and be ready to make sacrifices.

“All the hard work, energy, time and emotions we sacrifice to carry the party’s struggles, I want all members to be aware.

“Be sensitive to all matters and issues that are of the interest to the people, and we want to be the voice for them.

“InsyaAllah, I am confident that the good intentions and noble efforts that we make with all our hearts will be blessed by God,” she said.
