MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark said it was “closely monitoring” recent developments involving the Danish territory of Greenland.

In a statement early on Tuesday, the embassy said it was coordinating with Danish and Greenlandic authorities and added that assistance was ready for Filipinos, should it be needed.

“At this time, there is no cause for alarm. The Embassy stands ready to provide assistance should the need arise and encourages all Filipinos to remain calm, vigilant, and well-informed by relying on official and credible sources of information,” the embassy said.

“The Embassy remains committed to safeguarding the welfare of all Filipinos in Greenland and will continue to provide updates, as deemed necessary,” it added.

In addition, the embassy said it was updating its directory of Filipinos in the Danish territory to ensure they can be contacted. An online form was also posted on their Facebook page through the link: https://forms.gle/Xzssi4YLS6W1ayMD7.
