REPRESENTATIVES from the Philippines and Saudi Arabia discussed prospective business cooperation during a meeting at the headquarters of AlRushaid Petroleum Investment Group in Al Khobar on Thursday.
Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Raymond Balatbat and AlRushaid Chairman and CEO Rasheed Al Rushaid met with a Philippine delegation from the Department of Trade and Industry’s Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB) led by Director Bianca Sykimte.
The meeting highlighted a shared interest in strengthening economic ties through expanded business engagement and mutually beneficial partnerships.
Discussions focused on potential collaboration in Saudi Arabia’s infrastructure sector, which continues to see robust growth under the kingdom’s Vision 2030 development agenda.
Both sides exchanged views on how Philippine companies could participate in projects involving construction, engineering services and related support industries.
The Philippine delegation underscored the country’s interest in promoting Filipino expertise and products in overseas markets, noting that Saudi Arabia remains a key economic partner in the Middle East.
DTI-EMB officials emphasized their mandate to facilitate export promotion, investment linkages and business matching between Philippine firms and foreign partners.
AlRushaid Petroleum expressed openness to exploring cooperation in infrastructure, energy-related services and industrial investments.
The meeting was part of the Philippine government’s efforts to strengthen economic diplomacy in the Gulf region by engaging private-sector players to identify opportunities for trade and investment.
