TAWAU: Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) Merotai candidate Datuk Ruji Ubi (pic) said the Sabahan for Malaysia (S4M) concept is crucial to ensuring fair development and balanced representation within the Federation.

He said the idea is already reflected through the expertise of Sabahans serving in top federal roles, including senior Petronas vice-president Datuk Ir Bachok Pilong, ECRL project CEO Datuk Seri Darwis Abdul Razak and Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus.

Ruji told reporters at his manifesto launch in Kampung Haji Matahir on Saturday that S4M also highlights the need to bring home policy knowledge and national-level experience to help build Sabah’s capacity.

He said the Federal Government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has shown consistent attention to Sabah through major allocations, commitments on the 40 per cent entitlement and support for a governance model that blends political and technocratic leadership.

Ruji added that if elected he would prioritise resolving electricity, water, road and documentation issues in Merotai while strengthening education, land security, job opportunities and economic spaces for local families and young people.
