MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) Region IV-A and Calamba Medical Center (CMC) have strengthened their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement covering selected PhilHealth Z Benefit packages for qualified patients.
The agreement covers Z Benefit packages for Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) surgery, peritoneal dialysis and hearing impairment services for children aged 0 to 17 years.
PhilHealth Region IV-A Regional Vice President Dr. Edwin Oriña and CMC President and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Pilar Nenuca P. Almira signed the agreement.
Under the enhanced CABG Z Benefit, qualified patients may receive coverage of up to P660,000 for standard-risk cases and up to P960,000 for expanded or high-risk cases with co-morbidities.
Coverage also includes post-surgery care, up to six cardiac rehabilitation sessions, medicines, and specified laboratory and diagnostic services.
For patients with kidney failure, the Peritoneal Dialysis Z Benefit covers treatment that can be performed at home. Peritoneal dialysis uses the lining of the abdomen, or peritoneum, as a natural filter to remove waste and excess fluid from the blood.
Annual coverage under the enhanced Peritoneal Dialysis Z Benefit can reach P510,140 for adult continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, depending on the prescribed treatment.
Included in the package are catheter insertion and initiation, infection prevention, peritonitis treatment and laboratory diagnostics.
Qualified children may also access PhilHealth's Z Benefit for Children with Hearing Impairment, including applicable assessment, hearing-aid and habilitation services.
PhilHealth Region IV-A and CMC said the partnership is intended to give qualified patients and families greater access to specialized care while reducing the financial burden of serious and life-changing medical conditions.
For CMC, the partnership reinforces its stated vision of being the “hospital of choice in CALABARZON” and its brand promise, “Kalingang may Husay at Puso.”
