Philippine economy grows 2.3% in Q2

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine economy grew by 2.3 percent in the second quarter of 2026, lower than the 5.5-percent expansion recorded in the same period last year and the 2.8-percent growth in the first quarter, according to data released by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) on Friday.

The services sector expanded by 4.5 percent while agriculture, forestry and fishing grew by 2.7 percent.

Industry, however, contracted by 2.4 percent during the April-to-June period.
