Kota Kinabalu: Philippine’s Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra said it may take time for the Government to come up with a position on the Feb. 28 controversial ruling of the French arbitration court to award $14.92 billion to the Sulu Sultanate heirs over the so-called Sabah claim by Malaysia.
He said the issue is highly complicated and extremely sensitive. “A task force that conducted a study on details of the French arbitral award has delved into complicated and sensitive issues that consumed much time,” Guevarra told reporters in Manila.
Asked by the media for an update on the matter, he said: “The OSG (Office of Solicitor General) will hold its third revalidation of the draft report (Nov. 28) before we finalise the same for consideration of other government authorities.”
