Kota Kinabalu: The Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) said Sulu sympathisers both within and outside Sabah consider the state as Philippines’ 14th province.
They do this publicity through social media and other channels, like newspapers and publications in and outside of the Philippines.
Esscom Senior Intelligence Officer ASP Nustad bin Kirino said this in an online seminar on “Understanding the security threats to Sabah and Sarawak” organized by the Sabah and Sarawak Affairs Division of the Prime Minister’s Department, recently.
He showed a screen view of a tourist attraction taken by a sympathiser who tagged the location as Sabah, Philippines, in his social media postings.
