PhilSA warns vs Chinese rocket debris near Palawan

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) confirmed the launch of a Chinese rocket on Monday and warned that debris could reach Philippine waters.

In an advisory on Monday, PhilSA said debris from China’s Long March 7 rocket, launched Monday morning, may fall 34 nautical miles (NM) away from Bajo de Masinloc, 97 NM away from Cabra Island, Occidental Mindoro, and 130 NM away from Busuanga, Palawan.

The agency urged the public, particularly mariners and aviators, to avoid the designated zones during the rocket’s passage and possible debris drop.
