[PHOTOS] Three days to Wukuf, Malaysian pilgrims land in Jeddah

SEPANG – The batch of Malaysian haj pilgrims for the year that took off last Sunday 6.55am arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport at 10.55am (Saudi time).

After two years of travel restrictions due to the pandemic, a total of 14,306 Malaysians were given the opportunity to fulfil their pilgrimage in Mecca.

The 284 pilgrims went through the documentation process at the KLIA Mövenpick Hotel and Convention Centre and were taken to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to board the Malaysia Airlines flight MH8150.

Malaysia is among five countries placed under the Mecca Route initiative where it facilitates entry into Saudi Arabia.

Through the initiative, Malaysian pilgrims arriving in Jeddah and Madinah will be taken to their respective hotels without having to go through a strict immigration screening at the airport.

At this time, millions of pilgrims in Makkah began their journey to Arafah to perform Wukuf.
