Independent preacher Firdaus Wong Wai Hung has claimed that he recently received fresh death threats following a public post he made regarding the Sultan of Selangor’s decree on the pig farming issue, raising renewed concerns over personal safety and the consistency of law enforcement responses.

In a statement issued on January 12, 2026, Firdaus said the threats were made in response to his comments on the matter, prompting him to prepare a police report against an individual who allegedly issued violent remarks in the public domain. He stressed that the incident was not isolated and reflected a pattern of intimidation he had faced over the years.

According to Firdaus, he has previously lodged multiple police reports after receiving threats of serious harm, including death threats and warnings of physical assault. He recalled that in one case reported in 2025, the person who threatened to kill him had admitted to making the statement during investigations. Despite this admission, he claimed no charges had been brought against the individual to date. He added that another person who allegedly threatened to assault him had similarly not faced prosecution.

Firdaus expressed frustration over what he described as a lack of decisive action, saying repeated reports had not resulted in legal consequences for those involved. He argued that the absence of firm enforcement sent the wrong message and could embolden further acts of intimidation against public figures who speak on sensitive issues.

In drawing attention to his concerns, Firdaus compared his experience with another recent high-profile case involving a public figure, where authorities moved swiftly from arrest to prosecution and sentencing within a short period. He suggested that the contrasting pace of action raised questions about equal treatment under the law and whether all cases involving threats and public order were handled with the same urgency.

The preacher emphasised that his intention in highlighting the matter was not to inflame tensions, but to seek protection and accountability through proper legal channels. He said public discourse, even on controversial topics, should not descend into threats of violence, adding that disagreement must be addressed through lawful and respectful means.

Firdaus also reiterated that he would continue cooperating with the authorities and hoped that his latest report would prompt a more decisive response. He maintained that ensuring consistent enforcement of the law was essential to safeguarding freedom of expression while deterring intimidation and violence.
