SUBANG JAYA, Dec 28 — The second phase of installing 400 piles in the landslide area near Taman Wawasan in Puchong has commenced, involving the entire left and right sides of the drain.

Subang Jaya Deputy Mayor Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali said the first phase of installing 375 piles was recently completed to strengthen the soil and ensure the area’s stability.

“After completing the first phase, we will proceed with importing soil to the site and implementing additional designs to ensure the area’s safety,” he said when contacted.

Zulkurnain also advised affected residents not to return home for the time being for safety reasons, amid continuous concerns over rain causing soil movement.

Previously, Subang Jaya Mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim said the second phase would involve temporarily diverting water in the damaged and collapsed drain area.

Last week, 29 residents in nine terrace houses in the affected area were directed to evacuate for safety reasons following the landslide near their residences.

The incident along Jalan Wawasan 3/9 and Jalan Wawasan 3/14 at around 7.30pm on December 16 also resulted in four vehicles being buried, but with no casualties were reported.
