SIPITANG: Clean water supply was cut off due to works on the Pan Borneo highway starting Monday. The cut affected several villages, said a Water Department spokesman.
Among the villages involved were Pekan Sipitang, Kg Lubang Baya, Kg Parusiku, Kg Kaban, Kg Bangsal, Kg Tanjung Nipis, Kg Pantai, Kg Kawang Tali Air, Kg Ranau-Ranau, Kg Bahagia, Kg Seri Menanti and the entire Sindumin area.
Also affected were Kg Batu 7, Jalan Luagan, Jalan Samur, Kg Padang Berempah, Jalan Sungai Batat, Kg batu 1 and 2, Petronas Housing, Kg Tanjung Pagar, Kg Ulu Sipitang, Jalan Naparan Ulu Sipitang and the surrounding areas.
The spokesman further advised the public to store enough water and use water wisely. It is not known how long it would take to repair the pipe, however, the department is working hard to fix it.
