In a strategic move to advance Kedah’s mineral industry, a delegation from Permodalan Kedah Berhad (PKB) conducted an official visit to Penang Port Sdn. Bhd., marking a significant milestone in the state’s economic agenda — the first-ever export of silica sand from Lot 1086, Mukim Terap to Taiwan.

Spearheading the delegation was Mr. Badrudi bin Haji Hamid, PKB’s Administration and Finance Manager, accompanied by Mr. Muhammad Nazmi bin Azizan, Mrs. Norsyazwani binti Mustaffa, and Mr. Raimy Izwan bin Muhamad Rozali. Also present during the visit was the quarry operator, Dinasti Amwan Sdn. Bhd., who plays a pivotal role in the operation.

The visit was focused on overseeing the port logistics and operational flow to ensure a smooth and efficient export process — a critical step in what is poised to be a game-changer for Kedah’s export landscape.

This pioneering initiative not only underscores PKB’s commitment to unlocking the state’s mineral wealth but also paves the way for new international trade opportunities, enhanced supply chain resilience, and robust economic growth in Kedah.

With this landmark export, Kedah is set to shine on the global stage, proving its potential as a key player in the regional mineral and logistics ecosystem.
