PKR welcomes Kedah’s new cost-saving stance, aligning with federal MADANI principles and marking a shift from populist politics to responsible governance.

ALOR SETAR: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has welcomed the Kedah state government’s decision to implement cost-saving measures.

PKR Kedah communications director Tunku Nashrul Abaidah said the move aligns with the prudent approach emphasised by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He stated the policy aims to manage state finances amid global cost pressures and the energy crisis.

“The move, albeit being late, is still welcomed,” Tunku Nashrul said in a statement.

He added it acknowledges that the mature approach outlined by the MADANI Government is a necessity, not mere rhetoric.

Tunku Nashrul said the state government must now move beyond sensational politics.

Priority must shift to comprehensive and responsible solutions demonstrated at the federal level.

“Ironically, this approach was once questioned and belittled,” he noted.

He said if this marks the beginning of a change in approach, it deserves support.
