PKR bullish on wresting several T’ganu seats: Nik Nazmi

KUALA TERENGGANU – Terengganu PKR is optimistic that it can wrest several seats in the upcoming state election, said party vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.

The Terengganu and Kelantan PKR chiefs have based this prediction on the party’s past track record, demographic factors, as well as surveys and research done, according to Nik Nazmi. 

“So we ask that Keadilan (PKR), in particular, is taken seriously by our friends in Barisan Nasional (BN)... we also have a history in Terengganu from the beginning of our establishment, for us it is important that we have a presence here. We understand the views voiced by the grassroots because they want PKR to continue to have a foothold in Terengganu.

“To me, Keadilan has some advantages in general, I can’t mention the details, but for example, the Bandar seat had been previously won (by PKR and held from 2013-2018).

“Usually, Keadilan’s seats are quite urban… that’s what we think is Keadilan’s strength,” he said after a meet-and-greet at the Kuala Terengganu PKR office here today.

Meanwhile, he said seat allocation negotiations between Pakatan Harapan and BN for the state elections are expected to be completed within a week or two. – Bernama, June 18, 2023
