PKR’s international bureau condemns US-Israel military action against Iran as a violation of international law, calling for an immediate ceasefire and UN intervention.

KUALA LUMPUR: The PKR International Affairs Bureau has condemned military action by the United States and Israel against Iran.

Bureau chairman Dr Maszlee Malik described the action as a serious violation of international law that threatens global stability.

He said it constituted an unprovoked act of war contravening the United Nations Charter.

“This dangerous escalation threatens regional and global stability, particularly in an already volatile West Asia,” Maszlee said in a statement.

“The world needs peace, not more wars. We vehemently reject foreign military intervention and the subjugation of a nation’s right to self-determination.”

He affirmed that PKR stands in solidarity with the people of Iran.

Maszlee called for the immediate cessation of all hostile military actions against Iran.

He demanded full respect for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in line with the UN Charter.

The bureau also urged decisive action by the UN Security Council to halt the aggression and uphold international peace.

Maszlee called on the US and Israel to cease hostilities and pursue diplomacy and peaceful coexistence.

The strikes were launched after the US increased its military build-up in the region.

Israel described the move as a pre-emptive strike to eliminate threats from its arch-enemy.

The military action follows pressure on Tehran to scale down its nuclear programme and a crackdown on widespread protests in Iran.
