Kota Kinabalu: Warisan Supreme Council member Sarifuddin Hata accused Sabah PKR of trying to cover up its role in issues ahead of the coming state election.
On the water concession terminations which cost the GRS State Government RM315.2 million in compensation settlements which Sabah PKR blamed on Warisan, the Kalabakan Warisan Division Chief said the decision was made collectively by the then Sabah Cabinet of which PKR was part of the State Government then.
“The GRS government chose to pay RM315.2 million in compensation through out-of-court settlement, when the government could have saved RM12 million monthly if the concession was terminated,” Sarifuddin said.
Regarding Pan Borneo Highway delays, he said the Project Delivery Partner termination was decided by federal ministries led by DAP and PKR ministers, not Warisan.
“Delays were not because Warisan terminated contractors, but because the original BN-era contractors were incompetent, financially weak and inexperienced,” he said.
Responding to PKR’s criticism of Warisan’s flood response during ongoing political tours, the Merotai Assemblyman said Warisan divisions in affected areas continued providing aid despite smaller resources.
He questioned the whereabouts of government flood relief allocations and whether victims had received promised aid, including assistance pledged to Penampang flood victims last year.
